METHODS FOR MORE BLOOMS
We love our gardens to look full of flowers. Flowers give us immense happiness, tranquillity, serenity and a sense of achievement. But, it does not work like that always. We find some plants to blooming and some others don’t. There could be many reasons, why don’t plants bloom as they should. It could be lack of nutrients, often dehydration is over looked or not enough sunlight.
1. Potting soil
Often, we disregard the importance of a potting soil. Most of us think normal garden soil with a bit of cow compost is good enough. But thats where the mistake lies, while potting it is good practice to add other nutrients as well. Adding bone meal, neem mix powder, tricoderma, compost or even some humic granules helps to enrich the soil, so the plant gets enough nutrients to flower on time.
2. Water
Watering is essential as, plants use them to transport minerals off the soil into stem and leaves. Flower buds are made out of starch and water (that’s the reason, they get burnt during heat waves). Plants need immense energy to produce flowers as flower in turn produce seeds for the next generation of plants. So, watering flowering plants daily is a good practice and watering them thoroughly is even better.
3. Light
Without sunlight, plants cannot exists. Plants need three basic things; water, carbon dioxide and sunlight to photosynthesis (make food}. As a rule of thumb, most flowering plants need high sunlight weather direct or indirect sunlight. So, sure your pots are kept in a place where they receive at least, 6 hours of good sunlight.
