  • Description: This perennial shrub forms an evergreen hedge with copper red glossy young leaves which turn green as they mature. The genus Photinia means "shining one" in Greek, a reference to the brilliant young foliage. Grows slowly [30cm per year] which allows for trimming into formal shapes.


  • Grow best: Prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Propagate from stem cuttings.


  • Use: For box hedging or topiary. Also as road dividers.
